Growing up, I remember being outside or wanting to be outside most of the time. I was born and raised in Southern California. We were able to enjoy a lot of what California has to offer. The sun, beaches, amusement parks and sports. My grandparents even had a cabin in the mountains so we were even able to enjoy the snow during the winter. Looking back, I would say I had a very successful childhood.

As a teenager I attended both public and private schools. I experienced the difference in everything from curriculum to culture. I was never the star athlete, never the good student and never really stood out in anyway. Just an average young adult who struggled with trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life.

Out of high school I set out to accomplish what I thought would be my career goals. I attended community college and starting working full time. I’ve had successes and failures throughout my journey and yet somehow was able to find my amazing wife. Together we have built a family and brought an even more amazing little girl into this world.

Now, I am in no way shape or form trying to tell anyone how to raise their kids. I am not trying to give advice, I am no expert and I didn’t write the book on parenting. Shoot, I didn’t even read any of the parenting books. What I do have is the unique ability to be completely honest and speak my mind. I hope you will enjoy my experience as I remove the filter, toss political correctness out the window and tell you exactly what its like to be a dad.
